Position Title: High School Science Teacher

Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified, enthusiastic, and Christ-centered High School Science Teacher to teach Life Science or Physical Science Courses. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore God’s creation through the study of science, integrating a biblical worldview into instruction. This role involves teaching a range of science courses, conducting lab experiences and preparing students for academic success and spiritual growth.
Key Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership
- Model Christ-like character and behavior in and out of the classroom.
- Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into science instruction.
- Encourage students in their spiritual journey through prayer, devotions, and faith-based discussions.
Instructional Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in science subjects of Life Science or Physical Sciences Courses.
- Develop a curriculum that aligns with academic standards while reflecting the school’s Christian values.
- Direct students in hands-on experiments, labs, and technology to enhance student understanding and engagement.
- Assess and monitor student progress through tests, projects, labs, and other evaluation methods.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
Classroom Management
- Foster a well-organized classroom and Christ-centered learning environment.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies that encourage student accountability and collaboration.
- Ensure the safety of students during lab activities by following appropriate procedures and guidelines.
Collaboration and Communication
- Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate faith and learning across subjects.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences, school meetings, and professional learning communities.
Professional Development
- Stay current with advancements in science education and pedagogical best practices.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, workshops, and training sessions.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with extracurricular activities, such as science fairs, STEM clubs, or other student programs.
- Support school-wide events, such as chapel services, mission projects, and community outreach.
- Perform other duties as assigned by school leadership.
Qualifications
Spiritual and Personal
- A committed Christian with a vibrant faith and a passion for mentoring students in their spiritual and academic journey.
- Agreement with the school’s statement of faith and mission.
Educational and Professional
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Life or Physical Sciences, or a related field (required).
- Teaching certification (State or ACSI certification)
- Experience teaching high school science, preferably in a Christian or faith-based school setting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
