The purpose of this position is to spread the message of the restored Church of Jesus Christ around the world. This is accomplished in part through the creation of engaging, unified messaging with greater reach and efficiency. Church messages are delivered via television, film, web, print, mobile, social media, and other delivery channels in multiple languages. We always seek new, improved, and more innovative ways to bring the world unto Christ.
The PSD charter states that the department will "Provide digital asset management system leadership and related support.” The Asset Management Specialist can fulfill this role by managing media files for the Publishing Services Department, ingesting media into various PSD systems, preparing them for editing and other post-production workflows, and finding and moving files as requested by production teams. The asset management specialist can also manage metadata in asset management systems.

Responsibilities
- This is an on-call position. Hours may vary, not exceeding 19 hours per week.
- Understand the scope and asset management requirements for a project.
- Responsible for the execution of individual portions of an asset management plan.
- Ensures that assets are properly organized and managed according to project requirements.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure that media and metadata match project requirements.
- Organize and ingest raw and/or finished media files into asset management and editing systems.
- Gather and review data from various sources (systems and production teams).
- Cataloging assets and documenting relationships between assets, projects, products, languages, and acquired information.
- Bachelor's degree in film/video, audio or multimedia production, information/archival management, or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
- Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of digital asset management.
- Previous work in video/multimedia production settings, quality control, library/archive, or other relevant experience with organizing, editing & sorting data, and using spreadsheets and databases is beneficial.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to focus for sustained periods of time.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with Windows and Apple operating systems.
- Understanding of MS Office programs, Excel, Word, etc., and ability to create/use shared documents.
- Basic understanding of media technical specifications (resolutions, frame rates, codecs, file types and formats, etc.)
- Basic understanding of digital media production tools, such as AVID Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and InDesign.
