Job Description
Cafeteria employees enable Church employees and temple patrons to focus on their most important work of bringing souls unto Jesus Christ by providing food services in a simple and affordable way.
Assists senior level cooks and/or chefs in food preparation, and prepares food items ranging from simple to intermediate difficulty including entrees, soups, salads, and so on.
Responsibilities
Note: Specific work performed may vary considerably among incumbents in this position. This role will be expected to do all or several of the following tasks:

Responsibilities
Note: Specific work performed may vary considerably among incumbents in this position. This role will be expected to do all or several of the following tasks:
- Serves food in cafeteria line
- Cold food preparation such as: salad bar, sandwiches, etc.
- Cook simple to intermediate recipes such as: basic soups, sides, steamed vegetables, re-heating, etc.
- Baking simple to intermediate recipes such as: cookies, ready to cook pies, cinnamon rolls, pastries, etc.
- Waste control, rotate FIFO
- Ensures proper care of food goods and leftovers
- Receive and store some orders
- Maintains clean working area
- Other duties as assigned
- Intermediate competency in reading, writing, and mathematics with 1 to 3 years work experience; a minimum of 6 months of previous food preparation experience preferred.
- Must be able to obtain food handler permit where required.
- Good communication skills in English (or language of country where position resides).
- Courtesy when dealing with others.
- Must be able to read and understand weights, measures, and recipes in the language of the country.
- Must be able to lift/move/maneuver objects weighing up to 40 lbs, work while standing for entire shift, make repetitive movements, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be punctual and able to work independently.
