The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level, working closely with BYU-Pathway departments and senior management in supporting workforce planning, talent management strategies and initiatives, and compliance for an increasingly global organization. The HR Generalist works with the Church HR department including international Area HR teams, and other Church Education System (CES) HR departments. This position supports the HR team in managing and covering responsibilities in functional areas such as employee relations, training and development, performance management, onboarding, policy formulation and implementation, recruitment, benefits administration, employment law compliance, and compensation analysis.
Important: This position requires a seasoned professional with a minimum of 8 years of full-time Human Resource experience. Experience working with an international workforce is highly preferred. A bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience) is required. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. When working with the international teams, an adjustment in core business hours is required. Some weekend work may be needed during times of high volume or deadlines that need to be met. Some travel may be required and projected to be less than 10%.

Responsibilities

- Performance management and metrics.
- Organization design and development; job, data, and total compensation analysis, etc.
- Identifying HR solutions to support business strategy.
- Communicate updates regarding HR processes.
- Coordinates recruiting cycle including selection interviews.
- Evaluate the success of programs to support employee development and organizational goals.
- Conduct needs assessments with managers to best strengthen the workforce to better serve our students.
- Interprets and applies organizational policy.
- May recommend change in policy and procedures.
- Serves as point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Leads in connecting HR to business purposes and interprets strategy to meet business needs.
- Leads, plans, and conducts assignments.
- Reviews progress and evaluates results.
Education
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
- Master's degree preferred
- SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR preferred
- Possess and apply comprehensive knowledge of Human Resource principles and employment laws.
- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
- Possesses project management and people management skills.
- Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation.
- Able to apply strategic, analytical, and technical skills to solve complex issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software. (Oracle HCM preferred)
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- International employment experience is highly preferred.
