Assist the Latin America/Caribbean Team in the Archives and Area Support Division of the Church History Department in collecting, preserving, and sharing Church history throughout the world. We are looking for a motivated, energetic, and organized individual with Spanish or Portuguese language skills to join our team!
This is a paid internship, which is anticipated to last one year (12 months). This position is a part-time (approximately 28 hours per week) hourly, nonexempt position. The candidate must be currently enrolled in, or recently graduated from (within the last 12 months), an undergraduate- or graduate-degree program. Preference will be given to graduates in history, library science, international studies, and related majors.

- Archives research, acquisition of historical records, archival arrangement and description, and workflow management, with a heavy emphasis on records processing and cataloging techniques that align with Church History Department standards
- The Church History Department’s worldwide documentation program
Responsibilities
The Intern will be responsible to fulfill the following tasks:
- Process archival records in a variety of formats
- Quality-check and edit materials
- Help in the acquisition process as needed
- Provide research assistance
- Translate documents
- Train missionaries and volunteers
- Assist the full-time Archives and Area Support staff
Required
QUALIFICATIONS
- Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation.
- Spanish or Portuguese language skills, both written and verbal
- Bachelor’s degree (or senior looking to graduate within 6 months) in history, library science, international studies, anthropology, religious studies, or a related field preferred
- Excellent English and editorial skills
- Leadership and training experience
- High degree of organizational skills, including scheduling and managing multiple projects
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience with archival research, oral histories, and a strong interest in international Church History preferred
- Familiarity with Latin American cultures helpful
- Self-motivated and dependable
