This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' The Seminar Assistant assists in planning, organizing and executing the annual Seminar for New Mission Leaders at the Missionary Training Center. Employee is first contact for seminar attendees and coordinates with team members and others to ensure all travel, hotel and dining accommodations are met.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Project Management
- Communicates with volunteers, coordinators, and supervisor to acquire and organize the details needed to run successful shifts and events.
- Contacts individuals involved in the events as needed
- Prepares and maintain equipment needed for the event
- Acts as a professional liaison for ecclesiastical needs and requests during events
- Assists in overseeing team of 30 seminar specialist
- Assists as an usher and mic runner
- Informs attendees concerning event agenda and facilities
- Maintains a professional atmosphere, making sure the classrooms and hallways look appropriate during event
- No time off available during June
- Must be willing to work 80 hour weeks, the week prior to and week of seminar
- Arranges all travel, hotel, and shuttle accommodations for all event attendees
- Serves as first contact for event attendees for all questions and details regarding event
- Coordinates event activities
- Plans and carries out all logistics for meals, meetings, training groups, check in, parking and departures
- Assists in supervising part-time event staff
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 year of part-time work experience
- Professionalism
- Leadership capabilities and excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong written and oral communication
- Organized
- Willing to take direction
- Confidentiality
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform movements for extended periods of time, including holding doors and operating elevators
- Ability to move around a meeting room and/or MTC campus
- To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment.
- 2 years part-time work experience
- Experience in large scale activity planning
- Experience in Project Management
- Expert with MS Excel, InDesign
- Spanish and Portuguese fluency helpful
- Experience as an MTC employee
