Job Description
This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department.

The General Purpose Of This Position Is To
- Follow the Leadership Pattern to increase member and general public awareness of family history.
- Serve as an ambassador for temple and family history work as it relates to the gathering of Israel on both sides of the veil.
- Provide insight regarding culture and best practices to enable FamilySearch to effectively create experiences for patrons to engage in family history work and discover their ancestors.
Responsibilities may vary but will include:
- Research local area(s) customs and cultures for localization efforts.
- Review and analyze social listening data to understand culture and help define experiences for patrons.
- Gather data and other relevant information about assigned area(s), including popular social trends, data about historical figures, and demographic information.
- Navigate social platforms to identify posts, comments, and groups the give insight to the perception of family history and FamilySearch.
- Suggest product and marketing strategies for assigned area(s) based on research and analysis.
- Write copy for websites and blog articles based on learning and SEO best practices to communicate about FamilySearch and its services.
- Attend staff meetings and other relevant meetings to preform job functions.
- Must be currently enrolled in an educational institution and one year removed from graduation. Degree of area of study in related field preferred.
- Ability to navigate various social media platforms to analyze posts and comments.
- Social listening analysis experience preferred.
- Data analysis experience preferred.
- Ability to use standard Microsoft Office software.
- Communicate effectively in English.
- Desire and willingness to think outside the box to help people engage in family history.
- Ability to adapt to changes.
- Ability to work from home and access to high-speed internet.
