Job Description
To help the Church accomplish its religious mission, all employees must hold a current temple recommend (if endowed) or be temple worthy as indicated by a certification from an ecclesiastical leader (if not endowed). Employees are expected to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and Church leaders and live principles of honesty, integrity, and morality. Where applicable, employees should work with, support, and advise ecclesiastical leaders in the discharge of their religious duties. Employees serve as role models for members by fulfilling the Church's work with divine guidance. They maintain a spirit of religious compassion towards others and an attitude of devotion to God. Regular attendance and timely arrival at the assigned work location is required to accomplish the work furthering the mission of the Church.
Responsibilities
60% 1. Procure supplies, equipment and services for requesting work groups by processing orders with a maximum authority limit of $10,000 per order for goods and/or services; analyze proposals, interview vendors and place orders obtaining price quotes on items with purchasing authority limits; document all order processes; perform all buying functions consistent with Purchasing Division policies and procedures.
30% 2. Provide expediting action on orders placed to assure timely arrival of goods and services by communicating carefully with requesters from the requisition through the payment phases of the procurement cycle, keep requesters informed regarding status of orders; follow-up with vendors to ensure timely delivery and adherence to specifications; analyze invoice problems referred to the Purchasing Division and perform procedures necessary to permit appropriate payment of invoices, ensure replacement of unauthorized substitutions; assist agent in the analysis and evaluation of vendor performance; and promote a cooperative and efficient relationship between requesters, purchasing, and vendor personnel. 10% 3. Type reports, presentation materials, agendas and statistical data as directed; receive pricing via telephone for oders over $1,000 and transmit the information to agent; maintain appropriate organized purchasing and expediting files.

Qualifications
- Associate's degree in business or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years in a purchasing-related functions; good understanding of purchasing principles
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite products (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Must possess the ability to quickly and efficiently learn new computer programs
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Ability to analyze problems and identify solutions.
