What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supv,Security,Temple (full-time) - Albuquerque NM Temple position at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
Ensures the temple ordinances are kept pure, recorded accurately and made available to worthy Church members by:
- Providing an environment where patrons may have a positive and uplifting experience each time they come to the temple. Maintaining and operating temples at standards established by the First Presidency.
Protects and secures the sacred and temporal aspects of the temple and other building including the structure, grounds, and ancillary structures and to protect the temple employees, patrons, and visitors by supervising, training, and scheduling security personnel, and by using appropriate electronic alarms and surveillance equipment.
40% Supervise directly all security personnel. Schedule and make personnel assignments to assure proper security coverage.
10% Responsible for the hiring, orientation, and training of security employees.
10% Recommend to the building engineer procedures and methods that reduce the temple's exposure to theft, vandalism, intrusion, liability issues, etc. This would include the installation, calibration, maintenance, and monitoring of electronic alarms and surveillance equipment.
10% Assist with inspection of buildings and grounds for safety hazards.
5% Available as needed for emergencies and assures all posts are properly covered. Assure that security personnel are trained to give first aid in medical emergencies.
5% Supervise the checking of building and grounds in the event of any threats; and conducts special investigation assignments.
5% Communicate security matters to building engineer as needed and on a regular basis and maintain an incident log and current incident reports.
5% Maintain and review payroll time sheets of security.
5% Conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations on personnel actions.
5% Establish and maintain close liaison with local law enforcement and fire prevention officials with communication procedures clearly defined for emergency situations.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Two year degree in law enforcement or related field and two years experience in law enforcement; or three years law enforcement experience; or a
comparable combination of two years experience with temple security and two years law enforcement or significant security experience. One year significant supervisory experience. Must have demonstrated leadership skills. Some computer skills are preferred. Must be first aid and CPR qualified. Experience in using, calibrating, and maintaining electronic alarms and surveillance equipment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
