Job Description
This position assists one or two trust officers with the administration of approximately 200 and 300 accounts each. Good communication skills are required in order to effectively assist with client relationships. They must work well with others and have a desire to learn all aspects of trust administration. The assistant will be competent in basic clerical tasks, and will be asked to handle more difficult assignments as they gain experience and demonstrate ability.
The clients we serve desire to assist in building the kingdom through charitable giving and have entrusted to our stewardship a portion of their assets for that purpose. We owe an obligation to both the current donor and also to the charitable institutions who will benefit from the gift in the future.
Other important relationships include Philanthropies, Ensign Peak Advisors, local attorneys and CPAs.
Deseret Trust Company, an integrated auxiliary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is looking for a talented Trust Assistant to join our Trust Team. As a Trust Assistant, you will assist trust officers responsible for the execution and stewardship of hundreds of charitable giving accounts that strengthen the global Church and help make the world a better place. These charitable giving accounts primarily include donor-advised funds, charitable remainder trusts, and gift annuities. You’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the best donors in the world, all in a professional and uplifting environment next to the Church’s beautiful Salt Lake City, UT headquarters on Temple Square.

- Provide professional, frontline support for Trust Officers in delivering superior customer service to donors and advisors, including assistance with account access, navigation, donation questions, and asset transfers
- Answer phones and address questions within the scope of knowledge and direct other questions to the appropriate Trust Officer
- Timely and accurately prepare and enter ACH, check, and wire transfer information on the company accounting system
- Prepare correspondence, perform clerical functions, and assist Trust Officers with document tracking
- Assist Trust Officers with system ticklers to ensure tax, accounting, investment and distribution deadlines are met
- Assist with the day-to-day account administration, providing support for account creation and termination, grant approvals and disbursements

- Interest in the nonprofit sector, charitable grantmaking
- High school graduate and at least three years general office experience
- Strong with Microsoft applications and ability to learn technical things quickly
- Post-secondary certificate or degree
- Client, donor, customer, account, or other database experience
