What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Worker,1 - GDS - Receiving position at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?
This is a temporary position that supports the Warehousing and Receiving department which supplies gospel teachings, resources, or services accessible to all in a simple and affordable way, supporting the mission of the Church. The incumbent performs daily receiving, warehousing, product replenishment, audit, inventory, and documentation. The incumbent uses heavy material handling equipment such as forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and so on. Incumbents may work directly with customers, and others to resolve order delays and make order corrections. This position provides entry or training level warehousing experience in which the incumbent performs various receiving, store, and/or warehousing functions under close supervision.
This is a temporary full-time (40 hours/week) position with a fixed term of up to 6 months from the start date. Opportunities to convert to full time regular employment is based off performance, attendance, and availability.
Compensation/Pay:
- Starting at $17.00 per hour
Scheduled Shift:
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00 AM to 3:30PM

Specific work performed may vary considerably between different departments for this position. However, duties would be of similar complexity and difficulty to those in the following list:

- This specific role will receive and replenish product. Performs general material handling/warehousing duties involving receiving, storing, inventorying and unloading trucks.
- Responsible of maintaining warehouse inventory including counting product, verifying item numbers, locations, restocking shelves, sorting damaged, discontinued and expired product.
- Capable of using a handheld device to receive new shipments, storing product to conventional racking according to item number and country of origin, consolidating and zoning faster moving items to slower moving items.
- Communicate via phone/email to schedule vendor deliveries and reporting issues with Purchase Order to the finance department.

- Quality of work is critically important in this role to meet demands accurately. Reviews and interprets packing slips, verifies quantities, inspects for damage, determines country of origin and specific language code for international materials, and prepares receiving and inventory records. Records weight and dimension figures on all new items for warehouse management system.

- Assists supervisor in ensuring Power Industrial Trucks (PITs) are properly maintained, licensed, and operating safely. Completes and submits logs and reports on vehicle as required.

assist in loading 40-foot trailers for shipment or prepare pallets of assorted materials for worldwide shipping, requiring special

Required:
- Requires a High School diploma or equivalent with basic math and computer skills.
- Preference will be given to those with previous warehousing, material handling, or related work experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Must be able to read and understand English.
- Must be able to physically lift/move/push/pull items (up to 50 lbs. alone or occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. with two people)
- Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, and ramps to store/retrieve items, and operate a pallet jack containing up to 2,500 lbs.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be Temple Recommend Worthy or have a current Temple Recommend.
Preferred:
- Experience in operating motorized material handling equipment including forklifts preferred.
