Retail Channel Financial Lead – Cigna Pharmacy Finance (Actuarial / Financial Analysis Senior Manager)
This position supports Cigna Pharmacy by leading end-to-end Financial Forecasting, Projection, Analysis and Supply Chain Economics functions for Retail Pharmacy Channel, leading a team of 23 staff to project and analyze retail revenue, cost of goods, and gross margin, and communicate results to business, finance, and supply chain leadership; manage intercompany service agreement between Cigna Healthcare and Express Scripts and perform economic evaluation and optimization of pharmacy network initiatives across retail pharmacies. It partners closely with Cigna Pharmacy Finance, Pricing, Underwriting, Product, and Evernorth Finance and Supply Chain Economics teams. It reports to a Financial Analysis Director.
Detailed Job Responsibilities
Develop effective financial projections for revenue, cost of goods, and gross margin specific to Cigna Pharmacy’s retail channel.
Analyze performance relative to projections, and explain variances to business, finance, supply chain, and other business partners who have a wide range of financial acumen.
Assist in the development of risks and opportunities relative to projection.
Manage and enhance Pharmacy Benefit Service Agreements (PBSA) and related performance monitoring and management frameworks between Cigna Health Plans and Express Scripts.
Lead economic value measurement and customer behavior/impact analyses for existing pharmacy network solutions and retail pharmacy provider strategies.
Leading a team of 2-3 staff members and create a supportive environment that incorporates regular training and development, actuarial exam support, feedback sharing and career coaching.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics or related field strongly preferred
5 years of professional work experience in actuarial, financial reporting & analysis, data analysis, pharmacy or other similar roles.
Outstanding problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal, and matrix influence skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel and Power Point.
Experience with database and analytics applications (SAS, SQL, Python, R, and/or Tableau) are preferred.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
