Key Responsibilities
As an Intake Care Representative, you will handle inquiries regarding preauthorization of upcoming medical treatment. This role is part of the Provider Services Organization (PSO) and serves the Global Individual Health (GIH) book of business.
- Processes incoming requests for preauthorization and Guarantee of Payment (GOP), with special attention to sensitive or escalated cases
- Closely collaborates with healthcare providers to gather required information, negotiate discounts, and answer any questions about the GOP process
- Effectively communicates status updates by telephone and email to members, brokers, and internal stakeholders
- Accurately verifies the benefits of the policy, ensuring that each request complies with the product’s terms and conditions
- Maintains strict confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and Special Category Data in compliance with relevant law
- Follows established departmental policies and procedures, and offers thoughtful feedback on opportunities for process improvement
- Translates and interprets medical and other relevant documents when needed
Key Skills
- Advanced or bilingual knowledge of English (C1/C2). Advanced knowledge of one or more additional languages is a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, communicating clearly, professionally, and compassionately
- Ability to organise and manage workload, efficiently balancing multiple complex tasks at once to meet individual and team targets
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Proactive and self-motivated mindset, with the ability to independently solve problems and manage ambiguity
- Effective collaboration with a diverse and international team
- Computer literacy and ability to navigate multiple programs and systems
- Previous experience in customer service, claims processing, or the healthcare industry is a plus. A clinical background is not required for this role.
Requirements
- You are able to commit to 39 working hours per week.
- You are able to commit to 2 weeks of induction training in the office, with additional training provided on a hybrid basis.
- You are available to work Tuesday through Saturday, 12:15 PM - 8:00 PM CET.
