POSITION SUMMARY
The Procure-to-Pay Buyer is responsible for purchasing pharmaceutical and medical supply items for the Pharmacy. You would exercise independent judgement and critical thinking within the company guidelines. Maintain adequate inventory levels needed to meet service level needs and contractual requirements. You are indirectly on the front line every day – interacting with operations members, strategizing on improvements and efficiencies, and supporting more than one million prescriptions that come through our world-class pharmacies and distribution facilities across the country.
This position is in office aligned and will require the flexibility to perform onsite 3 days per week at the designated facility.
Primary Functions
- Manage day-to-day purchasing activities by reviewing reports, maintaining and verifying inventory are at a level to meet customer demands.
- Work with internal/external customers to understand trends; identify opportunities to optimize inventory & service levels; assist in root cause analysis and corrective action; ensure product shortages are minimized.
- Communicate with all levels of management, possess solid follow through skills; written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks, and meet daily deadlines
- Participate in special projects as needed.
Key Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3 years relevant experience in supply chain, purchasing, procurement or closely related field
- Proficient using MS Office software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Oracle or similar inventory management system preferred
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and manage supplier relations and overall understanding of contract terminology and the contracting process.
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and partners in a professional and ethical manner.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Strong communication (oral and written) and organization skills
