Our Express Claims Center is growing and seeks a qualified candidate to fill the new role of express claims manager I. The ECC handles qualifying liability and property claims, generally under $5,000, in 42 states, with file complexity expanding in 2025. The ECC was first created in 2012 and has grown to a staff of 24 claims specialists and two Private Client claims specialists, handling approximately 10% of total enterprise claim count.
This new role will report directly to the assistant vice president and manager of Express Claims. This role will directly manage a team of express claims specialists and work alongside the other express claims manager in overseeing the day-to-day work product of the group. This is a headquarters-based role and qualifies for our company’s hybrid work option.
Starting Salary: The pay range for this position is $75,000-$115,000 annually. Pay is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Be Ready To
- directly manage a team of express claims specialists, handling volume throughout the country including auto and property exposures
- complete all day-to-day oversight of the team, including timecard approvals, PTO requests, coordination of schedules, performance evaluations, one-on-one discussions, promotion reporting and personnel issues, in collaboration with Human Resources
- prioritize, champion and encourage associate education, including technical skill development, self-improvement and designation study
- be the primary contact regarding customer service items for the team
- be the primary backup for the other express claims manager and assistant vice president and manager of Express Claims when they are out of the office
- complete minimum quarterly routine closed-file reviews for assigned associates
- hold regular team meetings and facilitate the flow of information to and from the team and leadership
- work alongside the other express claims manager to own, maintain and proactively improve the department’s licensing, training programs and processes
- monitor internal customer service metrics and results to ensure exceptional claim service and high customer satisfaction
- assist with multiple long-term department projects
- participate in collaborative idea generation and innovation

- high emotional intelligence, self-awareness and a drive for self-improvement
- sound judgment and decision-making skills in a high-volume claim environment

- working knowledge of our company’s reserving philosophy and escalation processes
- expertise in both first-party property and auto coverages
- an exhibited ability to evaluate and apply accurate coverage interpretation
- strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- an understanding of state fair claims practice laws
- a bachelor’s degree, graduate degree or professional study (preferred)
- AINS, AIC, AIM, CPCU and/or equivalent designations (preferred)
- prior project leadership and/or participation (beneficial)
- at least three years of demonstrated high performance in a Headquarters Claims-based role, the Express Claims Center or as a multi-line field adjuster or claims manager
