The associate investment analyst is an entry level position on the fixed income team which focuses on research, monitoring and trading within the bond portfolio. A successful associate analyst will conduct research and assess the prospects of different investment opportunities.
The pay range for this position is $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.
Be ready to:
- monitor the daily news flows for fixed income markets and individual securities held by the aggregate Cincinnati Financial Corporation portfolios
- assist in the collection and summarization of key news to be shared with the portfolio managers and head of fixed income
- assist in the due diligence process of analyzing new investment ideas
- collaborate with other fixed income team members on group research projects
- monitor and track movements in key fixed income market indices, interest rates and credit spreads
- monitor relevant fixed income new issue transactions
- help process trades: placement, monitor, allocation and settlement)\
- work with internal managers and external industry professionals
- respond to inquiries from brokers, sell side analysts and other professionals
- provide information and data in a timely and efficient manner
Be equipped with:
- understanding of financial metrics, ratio analysis, and return measurement and calculation
- strong propensity for data research and analysis
- strong quantitative skills with basic knowledge of key fixed income mathematics/computation.
- active reader (industry reports, company reports, annual reports, 10k, 10q, etc.).
- self-motivated to find other resources to support investment research process.
- experience with appropriate applications & software systems (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Bloomberg, and others).
- excellent verbal and written communication.
- ability to work as a member of a team
Bring education or experience from:
- a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics or relevant fields or equivalent work experience
- CFA designation not required initially but will be an expected educational pursuit
