The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, is seeking an Assistant Director of Marketing in Athletics. This position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director / Marketing and Promotions as well as the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations. Must be able to assist in the development, planning, coordination, and implementation of all marketing and promotional efforts for the Department of Athletics. Will also be responsible for growing the Department of Athletics community relations.

Will plan, coordinate, and implement marketing, promotional, and social media efforts for primarily Basketball, Volleyball, and Wrestling. Responsible for driving ticket sales and attendance for all ticketed sports. Responsible for driving engagement through meaningful community relations utilizing market research, analytics, and consumer and social trends. Coordinate in-game promotions for football (on-field director), basketball (game day director), and assist with baseball promotions as needed, as well as other sports assigned. Writes and executes game scripts for Basketball, Volleyball, and Wrestling. Assist with Football and Baseball. In-game promotions include but are not limited to pre-game, timeouts, and halftimes. Collaborates with Corporate Sales & Sponsorships to execute promotions that reflect marketing / sales commitments.
Minimum Qualifications :
Must have a Bachelor’s degree. Must be willing to work nights and weekends, including all home Football, Basketball, Baseball, and other athletic events and contests as assigned. Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Asana, or similar project management software.
Preferred Qualifications :
Master’s Degree in Sport Marketing, Marketing, Communications, or Graphic Design. Experience managing community engagement / relations, prior experience working in athletics, experience with market research and analytics, and knowledge of consumer and social trends.
