The Commandant's Department is accepting applications for Summer School Head Proctor, Assistant Proctor, and Guards
- This position is for current cadets only
The Head Proctor will supervise and coordinate all proctors and guards in carrying out their assigned duties. Duties will also include : Supervise the duties of the Assistant Proctors; spot check rooms daily to insure the proctors are inspecting regularly and properly, inspect all rooms at least once a week; inspect barracks a minimum of three (3) nights each week for quiet and inspect proctors on duty to insure they are performing properly, also make sure barracks are kept in a high state of police at all times; supervise seating and maintain discipline in the Dining Facility; ensure work orders are properly submitted, spot check and insure that all rooms are reporting damage(s); assign rooms to students; also post and maintain the Delinquency list on the guard bulletin board.
To apply for the Head Proctor position the cadet needs at least two (2) years of college at the Citadel and has held some type of leadership position within the Corps of Cadets. The cadet must be able to adhere to the summer school regulations published by the Commandant's Office. The Head Proctor will receive free room and board.
The Assistant Proctor will assist in the supervision of the guards in carrying out their assigned duties. Duties will also include : Conduct daily room inspections, report deficiencies to the Head Proctor, and post on Guard Room bulletin board; maintain good order and discipline within the Summer School barracks; make sure barracks are kept in a high state of police at all times; check all rooms for damages and put in reports through the OS&D system; ensure work orders are properly submitted; spot check and insure that all rooms are reporting damages; and perform as barracks guard as needed.
To apply for the Assistant Proctor position, the cadet needs at least two (2) years of college at the Citadel and displays leadership qualities. The cadet must be able to adhere to the summer school regulations published by the Commandant's Office. The Assistant Proctor will receive free room and board. Only online applications accepted.
The Guards control access to the barracks and maintain good order and discipline within the barracks at all times. Duties will include : Control access for visitors, workers, students and others authorized to be in the Summer School Barracks; maintains sign in / out register for all visitors; answer guard room telephone and take messages; and perform other related duties as directed by the Commandant's Department and the Proctors.
To apply for the Guard position, the summer guards must display the dedication and maturity to perform as a guard. The cadet must be able to adhere to the summer school regulations published by the Commandant's Office. Only online applications accepted.
