LEAD BARTENDER - CITIZENS TRUST COCKTAIL LOUNGE
Position Summary
The Lead Bartender is responsible for maintaining exceptional bar operations, ensuring high-quality beverage service and upholding the standards of Citizens Trust Cocktail Lounge. This role requires collaboration with the Beverage Director to create innovative cocktail menus, manage bar inventory, and lead the bar team to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
Compensation:
- Hourly of $15-17 tips (annual avg. tips/hour: $28-31)
- Receive 3% booking rate for all events worked
- Eligible for 70/30 health insurance
- Eligible for End of Year bonus based on sales and performance
- Eligible for paid breaks after 6 months, which occur twice annually
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to: our Beverage Director (BD)
- Supervises: Bar Staff
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Implement and maintain all standards of service and hospitality in accordance with Citizens Trust Cocktail Lounge guidelines
- Ensure consistency in cocktail quality, presentation, and guest experience
- Enforce staff dress code and professional standards
- Supervise and direct bar staff in daily operations
- Create bar schedules four weeks in advance in collaboration with the BD
- Participate in interviews and hiring decisions for new bar staff
Menu Development & Product Management
- Collaborate with BD to create seasonal cocktail menus, incorporating input from bar staff when available
- Ensure all juice, garnishes, and cocktail batches are properly prepared for service
- Delegate prep tasks to bar staff as needed
- Maintain quality control for all beverage products
Inventory & Ordering
- Prepare weekly ordering lists for high-proof, low-proof, and other necessary items (juices, syrups, etc.)
- Communicate inventory needs to BD for placement of orders
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages
Financial Management
- Collect cash tip-outs and receipts after Wednesday and Thursday shifts
- Collect and secure tips and receipts on Friday and Saturday nights before closing
- Balance cash drawer during collection periods
- Manage working hours to avoid overtime except when approved by BD
Events & Buyouts
- Participate in special events and buyouts during regular business hours
- Receive 3% booking rate for all events worked
- Support BD in planning and executing special events
Schedule Requirements
- Minimum 34 hours per week
- Expected to work until volume-decline on Wednesday and Thursday
- Expected to close on Friday and Saturday nights
- During Miracle season, Tuesday is included in required evening hours
- Schedule exceptions to be arranged in collaboration with BD
Additional Duties
- Maintain and improve overall quality and guest experience
- Adapt to additional responsibilities as communicated by the BD
- Contribute to the ongoing success and development of the bar program
- Uphold the values and reputation of Citizens Trust Cocktail Lounge at all times
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
