What are the responsibilities and job description for the Power Plant Operator position at The City of Bryan?
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Plant Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing electrical and mechanical work in the operation, construction and maintenance of various tyupes of power generation at the power plant, hydro-electric generation plant, substations, emergency generatiors and other auxillary equipment.
Duties:
- Installs, inspects, operates, trouble shoots and maintains BMU generation units powered by natural gas/diesel turbines, water or solar field equipment and all related equipment.
- Installs, maintains, repairs, troubleshoots and programs the instrumentation, electrial, pneumatic, thermal and mechanical types of equipment used in the electrical and water systems, including PLC's.
-Maintains and trouble shoots SCADA System.
- Works with Lineworkers in the construcion, operations and maintenance of substations.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times
Experience:
- High School Diploma; maintenance/controls apprenticeship. or Associate's Degree.
- Experience in the operation of SCADA is helpful.
- Valid Driver's License
- Will be required to successfully complete Northwest Lineman College Substation Certificaiton Program.
