Job Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, maintaining and repairing public facilities, property, streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way using a variety of machines, tools, and equipment.
Examples of Duties:
- Works on a crew under regular supervision.
- Performs a variety of manual duties using various tools depending upon the assigned crew.
- May remove, mix, pour and finish cement sidewalks and install granite and concrete curbing
- May lay brick, bluestone, Belgium Block and other special construction materials.
- May cut, remove and replace asphalt streets.
- May be required to assist in earth road grading and city owned parking lot maintenance.
- May patch pot holes in city owned streets.
- Plants sod and grass seed on City rights-of-way.
- Drives a pickup truck to deliver tools, materials, equipment, etc.
- Assists in taking measurements of the worksite and in deciding quantities and types of material and equipment needed.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- One year of related experience and high school diploma/GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license
