Job Description:
This role will plant and conduct environmental education classes and activities at local schools, parks, playgrounds, and the Tiedemann Nature Center.
Examples of Duties:
Teaches environmental education classes to all ages including school groups and public programs.
Assists and supports activities and operations of the Tiedemann Park Nature Center, including afterschool classes and activities.
Cleans animal cages and center, feeds animals, and performs other husbandry tasks.
Assists with all aspects of the “Nuts About Nature” Spring Break and Summer Camps.
Handles a variety of animals including reptiles, amphibians, and ocean wildlife.
Monitors the safety and the activities of children during recreational trips or tours.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a flexible work schedule that may include early mornings, late afternoons and weekends, depending on programs scheduled on any given week
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 – 6 months of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree, or pursuit thereof, in biology, ecology, marine sciences, education or a related field.
