Job Description:
This role will issue permits to qualified applicants and assist with other tasks for the Preservation & Urban Design Division, Board of Architectural Review (BAR), and Design Review Board (DRB).
Examples of Duties:
- Process minor BAR and DRB permits for quick reviews.
- Daily shift in the Permit Center at the BAR/DRB desk.
- Enter BAR and DRB plan cases into EnerGov
- Returns calls and emails for BAR and DRB.
- Handles all status updates and general inquiries regarding BAR and DRB.
- Responds to inquiries regarding BAR and DRB permits, board requirements, and processes.
- Creates reports as needed and fulfills requests for information from GovQA and FOIA.
- Creates reports to identify delinquent accounts.
- Updates applications and forms.
- Assists with preparations for BAR and DRB board meetings.
- Assists with field documentation as needed by BAR and DRB staff.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (AA/AS) and six months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and education and experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree (BA/BS) in Preservation, Planning or related field.
Other Necessary Requirements:
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
