Job Description:
This role will perform playground installation, repair and maintenance at all City owned facilities.
Examples of Duties:
- Completes maintenance tasks such as checking, installing, replacing, maintaining, and repairing park and play equipment, fences, benches, signs, dog bag dispensers, gates, locks, and other operations owned by the city.
- Conducts regular inspections of playgrounds and play equipment to assess safety compliance and overall condition, following established guidelines and protocols.
- Operates specialized equipment and tools related to the trade discipline.
- Collaborates with maintenance crews, providing support to ensure safe and efficient work at the worksite.
- Receives and processes work orders, ensuring timely completion and adherence to procedures.
- Assists in estimating project materials from blueprints and participates in the procurement of necessary supplies.
- Maintains accurate records of all work performed.
- Works extended/flexible hours, as necessary, during shutdowns of equipment and/or buildings.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of playground safety standards required.
- Valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
- This job requires work order management through smart phone, tablet and/or computer.
Other Necessary Requirements:
- In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City’s needs.
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
