What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Network Analyst I position at The City of Coral Gables?
Under the direction of the Innovation and Technology Director and the IT Network Division Manager, this position provides network, telecommunications and cybersecurity support, problem resolution, business analysis, process improvement, technology services and customer support to users and stakeholders. The employee implements, monitors, maintains, and optimizes the enterprise network infrastructure to ensure the continuous availability of servers, applications, databases, collaboration platforms, client computers, mobile devices, public safety computer aided dispatch (CAD), records management systems (RMS), emergency medical systems (EMS), virtualization, and cloud enterprise systems, and telecommunications in general. The following duties are normal for this position. Supports, analyzes, and maintains complex switching, routing, VoIP, VPN, low voltage, advanced authentication, Endpoint security, Content Filtering, Encryption, SIEM, NMS, AD & SSL certificate solutions. Manages the life cycle of all network and security software and hardware components. Interacts with other City departments, service providers, and contractors to assess, acquire, and implement network and security solutions to serve business needs. Performs testing and certification procedures. Interprets, refines, and applies methods and procedures according with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), information technology industry standards, and best practices.
Maintains and designs enterprise network and telecommunication systems including switching, routing, VoIP, Video-over-IP, 911 PSAP, 911 Recorders, CCTV. ALPR, Wireless, and Radio systems.
Interacts with technical peers and departments users to complete project assignments and accomplish city goals and directives.
Communicates with users, vendors, and manufactures, as needed, to resolve technical and business problems. Maintains, supports, and manages telecom systems on a complex Cisco VoIP environment, including coordination, reviewing, and performing all moves, adds, and changes, as well as performing repair services in emergency situations as needed. Provides, and supports telecommunication circuits to enable new services, including, P2P Wireless, MPLS, Metro-E, Fiber Optics, analog circuits, and 1FB lines, etc.
Supports telecommunications systems data, and implements corrections as needed. Trains end users in the use of new telecom technology.
Supports enterprise solutions such as Wi-Fi, RADIUS, Content Filters, Firewalls, VPN, GPO, PKI, Anti-virus, anti-spyware, Advanced Authentication, subject identification, CAD, RMS, MCT Subject Identification, CCTV, ALPR, and data analytics.
Assists with other technical resources as needed: printers, fax machines, any audio and visual equipment, power backup/conditioning/protection and telephone equipment.
Deploys, upgrades, maintains, and decommissions network, security, and telecom hardware including LAN, WAN, filtering, authentication, and sensors.
Procures, retires, and disposes of telecommunications equipment in accordance with business needs and life-cycle analysis.
Documents processes and procedures of telecommunications products as well as cross trains members of the field services and service desk divisions on how to support new solutions as they are deployed.
Answers, logs, and closes support requests/work orders; escalates calls when necessary.
Performs data backup and end-point protection assignments; troubleshoots and resolves system problems. Makes repairs and conduct scheduled maintenance tasks. Responds to on-call trouble tickets when required.

- Associate’s in Computer Science or a related field, and two (2) years of IT work experience; OR
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a related field, and one (1) year of IT work experience; OR
- Four (4) years of IT work experience.
Certifications or training in two or more of the below specialties is desired:

- MCSA (infrastructure-AD, DNS, DHCP, AD, GPO, PKI)
- Cisco CCNA (Switching, VoIP, Wireless, Security)
