What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Passport Agent position at The City of Coral Gables?
This position performs advanced and technical clerical support for the department. The worker is responsible for all office functions including but not limited to document drafting, inputting, and organization documents in case management software, answering phones, responding to routine inquiries, and maintaining records. Work requires extensive public contact with passport applicants, the general public, and other City departments. Work is assigned and reviewed under the general guidance of a supervisor.The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification.
Accepts (or executes) the passport application and to ensure all materials needed to process the application are correctly submitted and enclosed. Verifies that the identification presented is a true likeness of the applicant, screen evidence of U.S. citizenship. Collects the required passport fees and forwards to the Department of State.
Performs all data entry, file organization, and reporting based on established procedures the Department.
Prepares, maintains, and distributes reports as instructed.
Handles incoming calls, uses copy machine, and provides general support to other staff members as needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Florida Driver's License.
