JOB SUMMARY
The Recreational Program Aid is responsible for assisting in the planning, and implementation of recreational sports and programs, activities for various age groups. This role supports the Program and Recreation Coordinator in ensuring that
all programs are safe, engaging, and meet the needs of participants. May work evenings and weekends.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY
- Planning and organizing activity programs under the supervision of a site supervisor.
- Organizes supplies and equipment for site activities. Implement lesson plan for daily activities (age appropriate)
- Follow all administrative responsibilities.
- Help implement all things related to sports includes games, and events.
- Monitoring participants to ensure compliance with rules and prevent accidents.
- Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of facilities and equipment.
- Organizing and prepare equipment for facilities, and/or fields.
- Track attendance and participation.
- Maintains communication with site supervisor and Program and Recreation Assistant.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Play and engage with the children.
- Assist with other various all age’s programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor to support the overall success of the program.
- Be flexible, may work evenings and weekends.
- Cleaning, maintaining and ensuring proper use of facilities and equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework in recreation, education, or a related field is a plus.
- Experience working with youth, adults, or seniors in recreational, educational, or similar settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of recreational activities, sports, environmental educations, arts and crafts or event coordination is highly desirable.

- Must be an excellent problem solver and solve issues in a timely manner.
- Must be able to appropriately mediate situations.
- Must be friendly, active, and like to interact and play with children of all ages.
- Support others through teamwork, dedication and guidance in order to achieve the completion a task or activity.
- Must have complete knowledge, or proven ability to learn, the rules and regulations of the city program and Child Safety Policy.
