An Environmental Specialist - Grease Abatement job is available with The City of Fort Worth (water Department/Customer Care). This position is with the Grease Abatement Team and would be responsible for conducting inspections, collecting samples and managing accounts of Food Service Establishments. Additionally, this position assists with Sanitary Sewer Overflow investigations and Plan Review tasks for new commercial builds.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with major course work in biology, chemistry, environmental science. No experience required.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of 40hr HAZWOPER
- Experience with grease waste programs
The Environmental Specialist - Grease Abatement job responsibilities include:
- Conducts inspections of Food Service Establishments
- Collects wastewater samples
- Assists with plan review tasks
- Assists with wastewater investigations

Physical Demands:
Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
