This is a grant funded overage position that will extend only to June 2029 unless additional grant funds are received.
A Human Services Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department/Neighborhood Improvement and Revitalization.
This position will ensure that Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds are dispersed through CDBG-DR program implementation and will be responsible for ensuring quality service delivery and coordinating services. In addition, duties include the ability to work directly with clients and provide case management to applicants applying for home repairs and rehabilitation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course in psychology, Social Work, Sociology or related degree.
- Four (4) years of community services or human services counselling experience, including one (1) year of administrative responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications:Â
- Strong understanding of accounts payable functions, including invoice processing, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial protocols.
- Skilled in creating and managing budgets, conducting financial forecasting, and analyzing financial data.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, including planning, coordinating, tracking progress, and ensuring successful project delivery within deadlines and budget.
- Experience with managing, coordinating, or overseeing housing rehabilitation projects.
- Experience with Federal grants and case management.
- Experience assessing and verifying applicant eligibility, ensuring compliance with program guidelines, eligibility criteria, and regulatory requirements.
The Human Services Coordinator job responsibilities include:Â
- Implement Federal programs such as Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR).
- Data analysis for grants and projects.
- Compiling and completing reports indicating use of funds, grant compliance and performance.
- Managing the CDBG-DR grant in Neighborly Software.
- Providing empathetic and compassionate customer service to program participants.
- Supporting and training staff to administer program.
- Communicating decisions, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to staff, clients or customers verbally and in writing, clearly and effectively.
- Execute contracts with internal and external partners.

Physical Demands:
Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.Â
