A Intern – Data Science job is available with the City of Fort Worth FWLab. The Data Analytics division of FWLab delves into large sets of data to extract meaningful insights and identify trends. Utilizing advanced statistical, computational, and visualization tools, they assist in decision-making and enhance operational efficiency. Their findings often drive business strategies, optimize processes, and pinpoint areas of improvement or opportunity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Epidemiology, Climate Science, or a similar quantitative field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and Data Science techniques, as well as the underlying math (e.g., Linear Regression, Bayesian Statistics).
- Experience in Python (and/or other languages desirable, e.g., R, Julia).
- Creatively approach data analysis and communicate complex ideas.
- Knowledge of nonlinear dynamical systems or stochastic adaptive control theory.
The Intern – Data Science job responsibilities include:
- Use scientific method to develop risk models and machine learning solutions.
- Present work to a range of stakeholders, including senior management.
- Be willing to question assumptions and conventional wisdom, and have a bias for action.
Salary : $20
