An IT Technical Support Analyst II position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions Desktop Engineering Division. This division is responsible for managing the endpoints used across every department in the city. This includes advanced troubleshooting, building images, making applications available, patching, advanced troubleshooting, and reporting on the endpoints.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or two years of major course work in Computer Science or a related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in computer-related positions such as operating systems, networking, or database administration.
- Minimum of one certification specific to the division.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Candidate selected for hire must pass a CJIS background check (see below for details).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree.
- ITIL, CompTIA Network , and/or CompTIA Security certification(s).
- Experience with application packaging, delivery, endpoint management, and reporting using SCCM and/ or Intune.
- Familiarity with writing and editing scripts (PowerShell, CMD, batch).
The IT Technical Support Analyst II job responsibilities include:
- Highest level of troubleshooting for endpoint issues; manages ticket queue by resolving incidents and service requests while staying on top of project tasks.
- Takes proactive measures to keep environment clean and secure, removing old devices and deploying remediation scripts.
- Generates appropriate documentation; and writes analytical reports and appropriate correspondence with internal ITS members and external department members.
- Attends training sessions and plans meetings as appropriate; assists in identifying training and development needs of staff; stays current with industry trends and innovations; and researches and analyzes new techniques.

Physical Demand
Light Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
