Department Intro: The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation is recruiting for seasonal positions to work with our 2025 Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp Programs. We are looking for self-motivated Site Supervisors who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while encouraging kids to be confident, creative, and make new friends. This is a unique opportunity to work with our at-risk youth and inspire them to reach their full potential. The Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp is located at 4 schools in the Fort Worth area.
- Attendance is required at orientation, which is June 2 –6
- The Mobile Recreation Summer Day Camp Program operates from June 9 through July 25 and is offered between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
- Candidate must be comfortable and willing to get into the water for any aquatic-related activities and field trips.
- The positions will work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week (Seasonal Position with no benefits).
This Position qualifies for the following incentives which are separate from the base pay:
- Completion of Assignment Pay. You can earn up to a $300 incentive pay, which is based on the amount of days worked while on assignment.Â
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of experience leading children’s activities for youth ages 5 – 12 in a recreational OR educational environment
- Minimum of six (6) months supervisory experience
- Valid Driver's License.
The Title job responsibilities include:Â
- Supervise children during a variety of summer day camp activities, including recreational, cultural, and educational programs, indoor and outdoor events, aquatic activities, arts and crafts, and sports.
- Maintain equipment inventory, materials, and supplies.
- Oversee and implement marketing to promote programs and recruit students.
- Coordinate and or collaborate with the school to promote parent workshops and family events.
- Develop weekly lesson plans that integrate subjects such as science, math, reading, recreational games, arts and crafts, and college and career readiness activities
- Evaluate seasonal employees at the end of the summer.
- Adhere to assigned work schedules as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensure all behaviors comply with the City’s Personnel Rules and Regulations.
