A Sr. Administrative Assistant job is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation & Public Works Business Support Division. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal and administrative skills, outstanding customer service in a fast-paced work environment with a strong focus on results, and the ability to adapt to change. This position will provide business support functions to Streets & Stormwater Operations. This position will also work closely with TPW field staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in public administration, business administration, human resources or related field.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible administrative and fiscal management experience in support of a department, division or major service area, including one (1) year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Accounts Payable and Purchasing Software (PeopleSoft Financials, or similar ERP Financial suites (Lawson, JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP), Creating requisitions, issuing purchase orders, paying invoices).
- Contract Management.
- HRC/MRC Coordinator to include filing Worker’s Comp Claims and Major Medical documentation.
- Recruitment & Payroll Processing.
The Sr. Administrative Assistant job responsibilities include:
- Supervise staff responsible for accounts payable, processing vendor invoices, payroll and timesheets, worker’s compensation, travel coordination and reimbursement, high volume customer service and other administrative assignments.
- Work with management staff on, recruitment, hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring employees follow policies and procedures.
- Requisitions and purchase orders processing and management, contract management.
- Preparation of reports, writing formal communication and prioritizing projects or assignments to coincide with daily operations.
- Work closely with the staff in Purchasing to ensure contracts are in place for goods and services needed by operations.
- Supporting Streets & Stormwater Operations in the business support functional areas.
- Utilize strong writing skills to prepare, develop, interpret and implement departmental programs, standards, policies and procedures.
