A Sr. Human Services Specialist job is available with the City of Fort Worth Neighborhood Services Department – CAPS.
The Neighborhood Services Department- CAPS, helps Fort Worth residents achieve well-being and independence through opportunities that protect, empower, respect choice, and preserve dignity. The primary purpose is to conduct outreach intake to determine applicant eligibility and to perform the implementation of human services programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or related field and
- Four (4) years of experience in social services program setting, Victims Assistance Program setting
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preference may be given to higher levels of education and certifications as related to vacancy
- Possession of a SSW, LMSW, LPC, and LCDC is not required, but is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including in an outreach setting
The Sr. Human Services Specialist job responsibilities include:
- Ability to supervise a team of 3 or more
- Providing outreach social services including intakes and referrals; case management and follow-up
- Ability to learn various program guidelines and processes
- Communicating decisions, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to clients or customers verbally and in writing
- Ability to routinely demonstrate compassion and an ability to empathize with clients/customers who may be upset or angry
- Prioritizing and processing high volume of information and data daily
- Demonstrate a desire to work with the public and supportive capacity
