A Sr. Project Controls Specialist job is available with the City of Fort Worth Water department, in the division of Management Services. This position will report to the Administrative Services Manager – Capital. The Sr. Project Controls Specialist will manage all complex capital improvement projects, as well as quality control and quality assurance of all capital project reports. The Senior Project Control Specialist will also supervise the Project Controls Specialist II staff.
The objective of this group is to manage all capital project engineering and construction schedules with Capital Project Managers, in order to report project updates on a weekly/biweekly/monthly basis to Water Executive Management.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field such as planning, engineering, business administration, finance, or public administration
- Six years or more experience in working with project scheduling, cost estimating and tracking in a capital project organization or environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Civil Construction and capital projects background
- Project Scheduling Software experience
- Intermediate-Advanced level of experience in Microsoft Office Suite
- Project Management skills - ability to oversee scheduling of 200 utility projects and balance increasing demands
The Senior Project Controls Specialist job responsibilities include:
- Maintain Capital Construction Project Reporting Cycles, through functions of Quality Control and Quality Assurance
- Supervision of the Project Controls Specialist II staff
- Streamline reporting cycles and implement ongoing process improvements
- Assists project managers in the development of scope, schedule, budget and cost data for high profile, complex, and/or large projects (both department-managed and PMO-managed)
- Assigned Complex water utility construction projects; multi-phased projects
- Ensure collaboration with the Administrative Services Manager-Capital and Capital Analyst in coordination with the Project Controls Specialist II staff
