Special Requirements
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Leadership, Leisure Management, Physical Education or a related field.

A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in recreation programming or administration, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.
CPR and First Aid Training
Good physical condition
A valid driver’s license.

Computer, typewriter, fax machine, copier, pool vacuum, floor machine, radio dispatch equipment, etc.

Work Environment
The Program/Facilities/Aquatics Director works regular hours with some overtime work. Night and weekend work will sometimes be required. 75% of this job is indoors, and 25% is outdoors and requires work done in all types of weather. The stress level is moderate.

Purpose of Position
Responsible for developing, scheduling, conducting, and supervising a diversified program of recreational activities. Also responsible for overseeing the operation of all Day Camps, Special Population Activities, and the OPC Cheerleading program.
Supervision Received
The immediate supervisor for this position is the Program Director of Oxford Park Commission.
Supervision Exercised
Supervises part time employees of the day camp program.
Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops, schedules, conducts and supervises a diversified program of recreational activities for the day camp program (Spring Break, May Camp, Summer Day Camp, Fall Break Camp, Pilgrims Camp, and Holly Jolly Camps)
- Supervise and coordinate the League of Champions program and the youth cheerleading program.
- Hire appropriate personnel to instruct the Day Camp program.
- Coordinates scheduling and organizing of fall, spring and summer schedules. Coordinate League of Champions programs for individuals with mental and physical disabilities.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
- Conducts and maintains safety programs for all facilities.
- Conducts recreational surveys.
- Responsible for the inventory of equipment and supplies needed for League of Champions, Day Camps, and cheer programs.
- Work closely with all OPC employee on related jobs.
- Promotes the Park Commission and the City of Oxford on the local, state and national level.
- Maintains good public relations with the community.
