PAY RANGE DOQ: $17.20 - $27.52/HR.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: the following. Other duties may be assigned as dictated by operational necessity.
Performs semi-skilled work for jobs related to, maintenance and repair of stormwater and rights-of-way.
Performs limited skilled work in canals, streets, ditches and ponds using first level maintenance equipment.
Washes, cleans and gives routine first level maintenance to equipment.
Operates pressure cleaning equipment, tractors, chain saws, trimmers, small trucks and automotive equipment.
Assists team in construction and maintenance activities including, but not limited to road patching, ditch maintenance, stormwater system maintenance and rights-of-way repair.
Assists with obtaining, tools and materials needed for work. Assists in setting up barricades and other warning devices to channel traffic around construction areas or other hazards.
May be required for stand by and or after hour duties.
Prepares daily activity sheets and other documentation as required.
Knowledge of principles, practices, methods, materials and tools of several trades.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to prepare and maintain records on activities.
Ability to apply all applicable safety measures.
Ability to be a dedicated, supportive member of our team.
Skill in the operation and maintenance of tools, machinery and equipment of the trades.
Ability to perform manual work under adverse weather condition for extended periods.
Ability to work in/or around traffic, working around underground utilities: electric, gas, phone/fiber optics, cable TV, water, sewer lines, etc.
- High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.

- Valid Florida driver’s license, and be able to be insured by the City auto insurance carrier.

Emergency Responsibilities:
In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee’s department, Emergency Management or City Administration. Such assignments may be before, during or after the emergency/disaster.
