What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skate Instructor position at The City of Plymouth?
Responsible for instructing and coaching ice skating at the Plymouth Ice Center.
- Ensure program instruction is taught in accordance with the ISI progression program.
- Ensure a successful skating program which results in engaged skaters and program growth.
- Provide instruction to a variety of skate lesson levels and ages.
- Ensure that class instruction is organized and utilizes proper skating techniques.
- Monitor the well-being of all participants throughout skate lessons.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment for all skaters.
- Administrate and participate in strategic meetings.
- Establish open and active communication with skating director, coaches, skating participants, parents, and arena staff.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Must have passed the skating level that you are assigned to instruct.
- Must be able to demonstrate all skills in the level that you would be assigned to teach.
- Must be able to work weekend hours.
- Must be detail-oriented.
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Must be able to communicate positively and effectively with participants.
- Must understand or have ability to learn teaching techniques and proper skill progression.
- Prior teaching experience is a plus.
Salary : $19 - $22
