This posting is subject to close after 14 days. ****************************************************************************************************************************************The Plant Maintenance Foreman supervises and actively participates the maintenance and repair of the water treatment plant, including its facilities, machinery, equipment, motor vehicles, and grounds. This role ensures the continuous and safe operation of the plant, seven (7) pumping stations, and the Kochville Reservoir site. The Foreman also manages a team of maintenance personnel, coordinating daily activities and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Schedules, directs, and oversees the daily activities of the maintenance staff. Assign work tasks and ensure proper execution to maintain plant operations in a safe and efficient basis.Diagnoses maintenance problems and determines appropriate course of action.Works alongside subordinates to meet daily maintenance needs of the plant.Collaborates with the Chief Maintenance Foreman and Stock Clerk to order and maintain inventory of parts and equipment necessary to complete maintenance tasks. Train, evaluate, and provide disciplinary recommendations for maintenance personnel. Assists in the implementation and use of a preventive maintenance program for the plant.Maintains daily work records and employee records using a computerized maintenance management program.Fabricates, modifies and/or designs mechanical alterations to existing equipment, systems, and buildings with the assistance of plant maintenance personnel.Acts as a working supervisor, performing maintenance tasks as workload and circumstances dictate.Stays informed about new equipment and materials for future use.Reads and interprets blueprints and equipment drawings to diagnose mechanical problems and determine necessary repairs.Acts as Chief Maintenance Foreman in their absence, as directed.The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned this classification. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force. Frequently requires standing, walking, sitting, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, couching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, tasting or smelling, pushing or pulling, and grasping, manipulating or making small precise hand movements. Standard vision requirements. Vocal communication requires the ability to express detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, and/or quickly. Standard hearing is required. Requires regular working near moving mechanical parts; frequent exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals [Sodium Hypochlorite, Ferric Chloride, Lime, Fluoride, Carbon, Cationic Polymer, and Diesel fuel along with smaller amounts of various laboratory chemicals]. Work is occasionally performed in high, precarious places, in outdoor weather conditions. Requires the occasional use of breathing apparatus to include a N-95, half mask and or full-face respirator.Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, occasional risk of electrical shock and vibrations. Work is generally performed in a loud noisy location (e.g. heavy traffic, large earth-moving equipment).
