What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Art Instructor position at The City of Stamford?
Position Summary:
Stamford Recreation Services is looking for an Art Instructor for the summer of 2025. Our Summer Camps run from Monday- Friday, 8:30AM to 4:00PM for 7 weeks, beginning on June 20th and ending on August 5th. This is a great opportunity to gain experience and the perfect job if you're a creative person who also enjoys working with kids. Art Instructor must be 18 years or older, have prior experience with kids in a classroom setting creating projects from scratch and be able to interact with 5-6 different groups of kids ranging from ages 5-12. If you're looking for a summer filled with running an art classroom, while still being able to enjoy some of the camp perks (activities, and field trips) in a friendly supportive environment, this is for you.
Requirements:
- Art background preferred
- Previous experience working with children
- Previous camp experience preferred
- Prior classroom teaching/field work experience
- Teaching certification preferred
- No unexcused days off
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
