FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Lehman College School of Business seeks to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in management information systems or information systems with applications to business (including non-profit sector) in the Department of Finance, Information Systems, and Economics, beginning in August 2025. The candidate is responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in management information systems, including courses in business analytics and IT security, and other technical areas of focus such as fintech, information security, and risk management, among others. The candidate will conduct research, publish in refereed journals, and present research findings annually at academic conferences; engage in service to the department, college, and university; and participate in any other tasks normally associated with a full-time academic appointment. Evening and online teaching are required. Lehman College is a senior college in the City University of New York (CUNY) system that prides itself on its commitment to public urban higher education. Located in the Bronx, the College serves its diverse student body of more than 14,000 students by providing a liberal arts education that prepares them for employment, graduate study, and the professions. In 2018, Lehman was ranked 3rd in the U.S. among four-year public institutions for economic mobility for students, and 1st in the U.S. among Hispanic-Serving Institutions with high extended upward income mobility rates.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems, or a related area by August 1, 2025. The candidate should have a demonstrated research record and potential for teaching excellence. Candidates with industry/work experience with knowledge of business applications of information systems in various sectors, including healthcare, are preferred.
Compensation
$93,134 -$99,532. CUNY offers faculty a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs. We also provide mentoring and support for research, scholarship, and publication as part of our commitment to ongoing faculty professional development.
