The Civi Group is collaborating with a prominent general contractor in Boston, renowned for their multi-family projects, to hire a Construction Estimator specializing in residential construction.
In this role, the Construction Estimator will be responsible for daily estimating tasks for construction projects. Responsibilities include performing quantity take-offs, managing costs, communicating with construction teams and subcontractors, preparing RFPs, analyzing bids, and conducting field take-offs. The position requires frequent collaboration with project teams and active participation in RFP preparation and bid analysis.

Salary: Up to approximately $160K based on experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the estimation activities for all residential construction projects.
- Prepare cost projections covering labor, materials, and timelines based on project specifications and construction documents.
- Collaborate effectively with project team members.
- Create bid proposals and tender submissions in line with company standards and client expectations.
- Recognize potential cost risks and propose value engineering solutions when appropriate.
- Efficiently use industry-standard software for estimation tasks.
- Track and manage project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage project scoping, clarification, and pricing efforts.
- Maintain project lists and vendor database.
- Generate estimates through quantity take-offs and subcontractor/vendor quotes.
- Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings.
Skills & Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, or Construction Management preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of residential estimating experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam, Buildertrend, Xactimate, and Procore is preferred but not required.
- Hands-on understanding of residential trades such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work is preferred but not required.
- Strong mathematical and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Understanding of construction practices, permitting processes, and city regulation.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
