Claiborne Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our corporate team in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing and maintaining the financial records for our company. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Manage and maintain general ledger accounts and journal entries
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist with budget preparation and variance analysis
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial data and analysis for decision making
- Assist with year-end closing and audit processes
- Keep up-to-date with accounting regulations and best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
