Akins Ford Arena is looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead our team in ensuring our facility always remains spotless and event-ready. From concerts and conventions to sporting events and galas, you’ll play a critical role in providing an exceptional guest experience.
What You’ll Do
- Supervise and coordinate daily and event-day housekeeping operations, ensuring high standards of cleanliness throughout the facility.
- Train, mentor, and motivate housekeeping staff to deliver top-tier performance while fostering a culture of excellence.
- Oversee and actively participate in cleaning tasks such as dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash collection, and restocking supplies.
- Ensure all housekeeping equipment is properly maintained, and that dispensers and supplies are fully stocked.
- Work closely with the Housekeeping Manager and Director of Operations to develop cleaning strategies that align with budgetary goals.
- Monitor staffing levels, assign responsibilities, and adjust schedules to ensure coverage for both event days and routine maintenance.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures, proper equipment handling, and chemical usage in accordance with MSDS guidelines.
- Oversee inventory management for cleaning supplies, spare parts, and chemicals, ensuring everything is in place for smooth operations.
- Collaborate with event operations and third-party staffing teams to meet cleanliness expectations for all guests, performers, and clients.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down events, ensuring the facility is always prepared for the next big show.
What You Bring
- At least one year of experience in a similar role within arenas, convention centers, stadiums, or theaters (preferred).
- An eye for detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to manage and inspire a diverse team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, event-driven environment, with a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to track and manage schedules, inventories, and reports.
- The ability to obtain or currently possess:
- A valid forklift license
- A CPR certification
- A valid state driver’s license
- Knowledge of chemical handling and safety in accordance with MSDS guidelines (preferred).
- The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and reaching.
