POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title : Systems Administrator Department : Operations

Hours : Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 PM

Salary : $65,000 - $80,000

  • depending upon previous relevant experience. Actual starting pay rate will be determined after a review of the work experience provided on the job application and resume.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES :

Responsible for the deployment, upkeep, maintenance, and training for all client-server hardware, network, user accounts and applications in support of the academic, operational, and business functions of TCA.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP :

Reports to the Technology Director

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Performs activities associated with deployment, configuration, and upgrade / patching of TCA servers, network equipment, and network services.
  • Performs activities associated with OS and application deployment, configuration and upgrades of end user devices and client-server applications.
  • Manage and support Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Implement, monitor, and maintain Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to compute, storage, network, and security
  • Administer the creation, operation, modification, deletion, licensing of user accounts and systems access for students, staff, and administrators where applicable
  • Coordinate with TCA Technology Director, Academy School District20 information security personnel and third party vendors to implement and deliver tools to guard against internal or external threats to data security and integrity
  • Ensure compliance with district and state requirements concerning the capture, uplink and reporting of data
  • Assists school staff with TCA's student information system to include activities to install, update, maintain, and troubleshoot / resolve issues
  • Assists with the support, coordination, and transfer of information between disparate school databases and assists with resolving access and integration issues with all school related data
  • Coordinate with external service providers and host(s) to provide project deliverables and resolve issues related to integration of third-party products and services.
  • Accomplishes system backups for all servers at designated periodic intervals
  • Implement and maintain security policies and compliance measures.
  • Carries and responds to a mobile communication device for the purpose of conducting school related business both during and after normal business hours
  • MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Attends ongoing training and meetings as required in order to remain up to date on network policy, procedure, and performance
  • Participate in school level Educational Technology and Information Literacy (ET / IL) meetings.

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

    EDUCATION :

    Bachelor's degree in System Administration, Computer Science, or Information Technology required

    EXPERIENCE :

    Information technology background, preferably in a K-12 educational setting. AzureAD, M365 Admin experience a plus

  • Work is performed in an office environment to include classrooms and computer / server rooms within a school setting
  • Required to work normal business / school hours and other hours as needed to complete job duties
  • Required to be responsive to network emergencies after hours and / or on non-scheduled workdays

  • LIFE / AD&D / LTD : Employees are provided a $25,000 group term life insurance through The Standard Life Insurance Company and offers an Accidental Death and Dismemberment and Long-term Disability policy as well. TCA pays the full cost of this benefit.
  • PERA : Administered by Colorado PERA, this is a tax deferred retirement account to which you contribute 10% of your monthly earnings. TCA contributes 20.9% to the PERA pension trust fund on your behalf.
  • VOLUNTARY VISION : EyeMed is the voluntary vision program available to TCA employees.
  • WELLNESS PROGRAM : A voluntary wellness program though Orriant is offered in which employees are eligible to earn an incentive of up to $150 for participation with achievement of wellness activity goals
  • RETIREMENT OPTIONS : Employees may elect to participate in deferred income for retirement purposes : PERA Plus 401 (k)
  • MEDICAL and DEPENDENT CARE FLEXIBLE SPENDING ACCOUNT : This account allows employees to save money for unreimbursed medical expenses or dependent care expenses to be used within the plan year (July to June) on a tax-exempt basis. This reduces your taxable income.
  • TIME OFF COMPENSATION : A 1.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employee is provided with Staff Leave and Personal Leave. For positions less than 1.0 FTE, your leave time will be prorated accordingly based on FTE. Our leave program is fully compliant with the Colorado Healthy Families Workplace Act.
  • PRIORITY ENROLLMENT STATUS : Children of staff members .4 FTE and above receive priority enrollment of their child / children at The Classical Academy.
