The team is provided a meal most days.
Job description
The Cliff House Inn is a charming 24-room hotel above crashing surf 15-minutes north of the city of Ventura in Mussel Shoals (5 minutes south of Carpinteria and 15 minutes from Santa Barbara). We are looking for a Hotel Front Desk Agent to serve as our guest's first point of contact and manage all aspects of their stay by the sea.
A hotel desk agent's responsibilities include: registering guests checking in, taking and managing reservations and providing information about rooms, rates and amenities. Staff have varied duties as they also take restaurant reservations and inspect the guest rooms (among many other tasks). If you have a knack for customer service or already have work experience in the hotel industry, we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, your mission would be to help create a pleasant and memorable stay for our guests.
Responsibilities: Our staff are well trained by us and can confidently:
- Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
- Manage online and phone reservations
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
- Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
- Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
- Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates and amenities
- Record the Shoals Restaurant reservations
- Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner and find a solution
- Communicate with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully-furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
- Upsell additional facilities when appropriate
- Maintain updated records of bookings and payments
Requirements and skills
- We are looking for a great team-oriented attitude
- The hospitality business is best suited for individuals who LOVE people
- It would be helpful to have some kind of customer service experience
- Experience with Macintosh (or other PCs) would surely help
- Customer service attitude. A willingness to go the extra mile for our customers and make it work for them
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ultimately, a great Hotel Front Desk Agent should have a talent for customer service. We will train you in all aspects of the job. Our special staff are pleasant and helpful, welcoming and professional, knowing these traits represent the hotel’s standing.
Schedule: This position will consist of 5 evenings: 3 pm to 11 pm. Availability on holidays and weekends is required.
