Job Title: Fitness Attendant
Department: Spa &Fitness
Reports To: Fitness Manger
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:
The Fitness Attendant ensures the successful operation of the Fitness Center facility, services,
and business transactions. Ensures the safety and comfort of all members and guests while in the Fitness Center.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Acts as the official greeter to all members and guests using the Fitness Center.
- Monitors people entering the Fitness Center to ensure that guests are greeted and admitted only during approved times and that relevant guest fees have been paid daily.
- Enforces Fitness Center and facility rules and policies.
- Ensures all safety protocols are followed and understands proper completion of incident reports in case of an accident.
- Knows and implements all emergency procedures to hurricanes, inclement weather, fire, medical, and security as needed.
- Sets, cancels, and modifies appointments daily. Checks in members and guests for personal training and Pilates.
- Researches member billing questions and makes corrections daily.
- Maintains Fitness Desk, counter, and surrounding aeras in a clean and professional manner showcasing program material and fitness shop displays.
- Provides blood pressure and heart rate readings offering education to the effects of exercise on both measurements as requested. All blood pressure readings over 180/90 require a call to Admirals EMS.
- Takes reservations for Fitness facilities & programs, answers questions, and responds to concerns, complaints, and suggestions.
- Assists Fitness Professional/core staff with maintenance log records, equipment diagnosis, placement of “Out of Order” signage, minor repairs, and contacts Maintenance Service Contractors and Admirals Engineering.
- Cleans fitness equipment including cardio, strength, flexibility, racks, televisions, desk, counter surfaces, and water & towel dispensers.
- Assists with events and projects.
- Assists members and guests with instructions on machine usage.
- Passes out towels and water as needed.
- Monitors traffic flow and maintains logs of daily use and member sign in.
- Communicates with members, co-workers, management, and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
- Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
- Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Club at Admirals Cove.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Fitness Manager and Director of Salon, Spa, & Fitness.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have strong customer service skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Experience in health or hospitality industries preferred.
- Must be able to handle cleaning supplies.
- Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing.
- Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, and members.
- Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to communicate well in English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of members and employees of the organization.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word. Outlook, and Reservation programs.
