What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barn Worker position at The Club at Las Campana?
Scope:
We are currently hiring a Barn Worker to maintain established quality, cleanliness and service standards of Equestrian Center.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Daily cleaning and bedding of horse stalls.
- Feed and water horses inside and outside barn.
- Clean all feeders and waterers daily.
- Clean all paddocks and rake all walkways.
- Clean all aisles, wash stalls and grooming areas.
- Dust and zip all tack trunks as needed.
- Remove and dump garbage.
- Dispose of manure as necessary.
- Rake pathways, courtyard and driveways.
- Move horses to and from turn-out areas as needed with turn-out sheets and boots as required
- Move and store jumps and dressage ring as necessary.
- Keep all equipment clean and in good working order.
- See that horses stabled at the Equestrian Center receive the highest level of care, including feeding and turn-out done with care and kindness.
- Ensure the Equestrian Center provides a safe environment for both members and their horses.
- Ensure quality standards for public relations are maintained with members, guests and the local community.
Note: Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Knowledge of care of horses, equipment, tack, the use and application of varied tack, supplies and machinery.
Certification and/or License Requirement:
- N/A
Skills:
- Must possess excellent oral and interpersonal skills.
- High level of confidence.
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions as well as communicate clear instructions.
- Must possess the ability to interact with members and staff on all levels in a professional, positive, and friendly manner.
- Working knowledge of safety around members, guests and horses.
- Professional standard of excellence of horse care required.
- Position requires a highly professional demeanor with members, guests and staff, adaptability, flexibility, and adherence to a strict level of confidentiality.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to instruct new workers in proper procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility is required in working nights, weekends and holidays.
- Required to work in a fast-paced environment.

- Requires ability to bend, stoop, walk, lift, and carry items up to 50 pounds.
- Able to work around animals.
- Able to work in a dust and hay environment.
- Requires working in an outdoor environment with fluctuating temperatures.
- Requires working in an outdoor environment on rugged un-even terrain.
- Requires ability to visually observe the condition of surroundings.
