What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steward/Dishwasher position at The Club at Las Campana?
Scope:
The Steward/Dishwasher maintains high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and other outlets.
Primary Responsibilities of Steward/Dishwasher:
- Ensure a clean workable kitchen area at all times
- Ensure proper use and care of dishwashing machine.
- Re-stock cook’s line and dining room service areas with clean dishes, glasses, and silverware.
- Polish silverware.
- Keep bus tubs empties and clean, stored in appropriate locations.
- Segregate and remove garbage and place in designated containers. Steam clean or hose out garbage cans.
- Properly store all cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Remove any boxes from kitchen and keep loading dock and dumpster area clean.
- Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or use of a hand truck.
- Assist prep cook as assigned or putting away stock.
- Perform necessary opening or closing shift procedures as outlined by supervisor.
- Clean all equipment used immediately following use and general cleaning.
- Perform other duties such as moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up spills, etc., as requested, to ensure a safe working environment.
- Attend all kitchen employee meetings.
- Properly store all food following food handlers guidelines.
- Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions

- Work flexible schedule up to, and including, nights, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of one year food and beverage and / or hospitality related work experience required.
- Knowledge of commercial dishwasher preferred.
Certification and/or License Requirement:
Requires having or ability to obtain any state or federally required license or certification. Food handlers certificate and any other service permit as required by local or state government agency. Other F & B certification as required by The Club at Las Campanas.

Working Conditions for Steward/Dishwasher:

- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time in a confined space.
- Manipulate and work with sharp objects and other kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Handle extremely hot pots and/or pans.
- Work with and around flammable materials.
- Handle toxic chemicals.

- Be exposed to hot and cold temperatures.
- Able to visually observe conditions and surroundings.
- Able to bend, stop, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Able to push goods on a hand cart up to 200 pounds.
