Mechanic - Golf Course Maintenance

Essential functions

• Responsible for assisting all Mechanics with repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Experience with 2 stroke small engine repair required.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on golf course equipment and other mechanical /Landscape equipment or devices; e.g., check oil levels, filters, belts, tires; wash wax and grease equipment and parts; report problems requiring attention.
• Perform daily housekeeping/maintenance of ESD recycle wash station.
• Operate light and medium equipment with little or moderate supervision; e.g., tractors, mowers, aerators, sod cutter, tillers.
• Repairs equipment in the field and in the shop.
• Provides assistance to Mechanics with maintenance on golf course equipment.
• Assist with rotary and reel sharpening.
• Assist with repair, sharpening, and managing height/quality of cut on reel and rotary equipment.
• Assist with malfunctions and repairs of golf course maintenance equipment.
• Correct problems and perform various electrical procedures to repair equipment.
• Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects.
• Complete maintenance reports as needed.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment, using hoists and gauges.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance projects in accordance with seasonal demands and department priorities.
• May be asked to drive a light truck or operate mowing equipment.
• Must bring and maintain own standard set of mechanic tools. Each mechanic must have and purchase their own set of mechanic tools to use daily.
• Perform daily housekeeping, sweeping, and upkeep of mechanic/equipment areas.
• Performs other duties and/or tasks as directed by management.

• Ability to perform physical activity including lifting, sitting, standing, walking, crouching.
• Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and hydraulic systems.

Education and experience

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 6 months previous mechanic experience required.
• Experience in changing oil, tires, and simple mechanical tasks.
• Experience with 2 stroke small engine repair required.
• Some welding experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 75lbs.
• Must have clear motor vehicle record to be covered/insured under company motor vehicle insurance plan.
• Must bring and maintain own standard set of mechanic tools. Each mechanic must have and purchase their own set of mechanic tools to use daily.
